Lurine had woken up in one of her usual bedtime outfits. No, really, when one was as dramatic as the former movie star tended to be, she loved going all out playing the part. So she resembled nothing more than some vapid rich model with more dollars than sense. Unfortunately, Lurine was a lot more on the ball than she ever let on.

Lurine stared at the man confronting her for a moment. There was no fear in her eyes but the expression on her face rapidly evaporated from one of amusement to cold anger. "Darling, that would be a very stupid mistake. Put that down before I'm forced to hurt you."

That seemed a bit laughable. She wasn't very tall and had no noticeable muscles. Exactly what was she going to do? But Lurine meant every word she said. Shifting forms was like breathing to her and she have this guy curled up in her coils squeezed tight before he had enough time to hit her with that thing.
