Welcome to Sweet Acres
Town Map | Housing | Businesses | Setting Questions | Full Navigation

Welcome to the Sweet Acres simulation! Sweet Acres generally represent an idyllic smalltown in the midwest of America. With its flat, sprawling lands and neat rows of perfect houses, one would say that it is a dream town come to life. Daisy created Sweet Acres to provide a healthy, stable setting for characters in between events. How thoughtful of her!

Because of this, the weather in Sweet Acres is incredibly reliable and often deemed "perfect" as it is never too hot or too cold. The only time Sweet Acres experiences any sort of weather shifts is during events. This is the kind of place where it might snow in the middle of summer for one month before going back to normal the next month as if there had never been a mass freeze.

There are no animals anywhere in Sweet Acres except for the occasional glitch. All plant life is real enough, but there seems to be something unreliable about plantlife and it isn't uncommon to see plants glitching.

The sun is in the sky for exactly twelve hours and the moon is in the sky for exactly twelve hours. There is no such thing as daylight savings and the world seems to function on our exact calendars.

There are several million stars more in the skies of Sweet Acres than our own. No character will be able to see any constellations from their own worlds, including our own constellations, and any astrologist would quickly discover that the stars in Sweet Acres are constantly changing.

There appears to be an invisible dome-like structure surrounding the entire town. One can travel about 20 miles outside of Sweet Acres and they would eventually hit an invisible wall. No power or object can break through this dome. Some events may make this dome all the more apparent.

Locations
[ Garland Labs ]

Garland Labs is a beautiful structure crafted out of gold to look like honeycombs stacked on top of one another. The scent around the lab matches its appearance: warm, honeyed, and inviting. This is largely considered to be the "heart" of Sweet Acres and for good reason: you'll wake up in Garland Labs if you accidentally die in the setting. Several events will likely force your characters into the labs for various experiments. Entering the lab is possible outside of these events, but it won't do much good as characters will immediately be struck with confusion and amnesia.

Characters who die or enter this building won't remember leaving either. They will, however, remember random glimpses of Daisy's face in horrific, distorted expressions, with her jaw completely unhinged by at least six inches or more. Characters may also remember strange yet melodic music and an even sweeter smell than that present outside of the labs. The labs within may change in appearance due to various events, but those who die, they will always awaken in a soft room with pale wooden walls and soft yellow beds.

[ Nighthawks Diner ]

This location is based on the famous Nighthawks painting by Edward Hopper. The Nighthawks Diner is your average small-town diner that seems to be open 24/7. Expect stale yellow lighting, old tiled floors, worn down upholstery at the booths, and an exhausted waitress and cook who seems to never have a break. Don't bother trying to talk to them beyond placing orders though: they have nothing to say to anyone.

One can intentionally go to Nighthawks Diner but you won't remember the actual journey there or how you got inside. You will merely arrive, sitting at the counter or at a booth, ready for a mug of mediocre coffee or a late-night stack of pancakes. Once inside, you may notice that there is no exit or entrance into the building. By the time you are ready to go, you will glitch back out of the building and wind up in a random location in town.

[ Jean Jacket ]

Jean Jacket is a dimly lit bar that always smells vaguely of smoke and well-aged whiskey. Low, husky music is always playing on the speakers overhead, and occasionally, you may be struck by the urge to dance along. For the most part though, people seem content with just drinking or playing a game of pool. A bartender in a wide-brimmed hat and a completely shadowed face makes the drinks. Don't expect to get a sound out of him or get any details of his actual face.

Jean Jacket serves every kind of drink you could imagine at a bar. It even has higher quality liquors that almost seem absurdly out of place along the worn-down mahogany bar top with its dusting of peanut shells. Jean Jacket is open from the afternoon until 4 AM. Many patrons of the bar claim to lose gaps of time at Jean Jacket, often forgetting when they arrived and when they left. Drinking at Jean Jacket may cause a greater lapse in memories and confusion and not in the drunk sort of way.

[ Monkeypaw Convenience ]

This is your standard convenience store that is open 24/7 and has all your basic necessities ranging from milk and eggs to Tylenol and bandaids. While you won't find anything too fancy at Monkeypaw, you'll find precisely what you need in a tight spot. Many people do their basic grocery shopping at Monkeypaw because it is easier than having to walk through the White Elephant Shopping District.

There is no apparent check-out counter. Instead, you can just take what you need and go. However, if you take more than what you truly need, it is said that you may be cursed with bad luck for a few days after the experience. There might not be much in the way of concrete law in Sweet Acres, but karma certainly seems to be part of the simmulation.

[ Zalgo Complex ]

The Zalgo Apartment Complex is a luxurious high-end facility with a sleek external appearance of shiny, flat black walls with golden edges. At times, it seems more of a hotel than it does your typical apartment complex. Despite this, the rooms throughout the complex seem to vary in quality, but this is likely due to the interference of Daze and how some people are used to living in their home worlds.

The Zalgo Complex has a community gym where anyone who lives in the complex can workout. While you won't find anyone "working" in the complex, the main halls seem to be well-maintained. If you have an issue in your apartment, however, you will have to fix it yourself or ask someone in town if they can help. Any damage that occurs in your room will not impact rooms nearby. This can include more extreme scenarios like fires. It seems that the rooms are well divided which includes perfect sound and scent buffering.

[ Voddissin Park ]

Voddissin Park is a wonderful way to spend your day. It has several different trails, each with beautiful scenery of trees and flowers. There are park benches, picnic tables, small grills, and even a tiny pond. Although no fish are in the pond, one can still enjoy a dip in the water or take one of the few rowboats anchored around the pond for a small ride.

There is an unusual smell in Voddissin Park. Although the scent of greenery is evident, one may notice that it is almost too green and too floral, as if the entire park is pumping out a steady perfume doing its best to imitate nature. At time, one might notice the trees or flowers glitching into different species of plant, before glitching back to their former species. Ironically, it would seem that Daisy has more trouble with replicating greenery than she does with people and monsters.

[ White Elephant Shopping District ]

The White Elephant Shopping District consists of a few blocks of wonderful and diverse shops. It's the perfect place to go to find a nice gift for someone, buy higher quality foods including fresh produce and meats, enjoy a night out at a restaurant, shop for new clothes, and more. The only thing is...Don't always expect the same shops at White Elephant. Shops seem to randomly vanish and be replaced with different ones. Each shop functions like Monkeypaw Convenience where there is no real currency, but greed and gluttony may be punished with poor luck.

The only buildings that don't vanish are any character-run businesses. A character can merely find one of the empty shop buildings in the district and consider it for their own business. While there is no formal paperwork involved, characters looking to set up shop will feel a definitive "click" inside of their mind letting them know that they officially own the location. They will even miraculously find a key in their pocket or inside the shop to help with security.

Unique shops may appear during game events that offer particularly special items. These shops will only be available at the time of the event but may reappear during another event.

[ Dreamsnake Clinic ]

The Dreamsnake Clinic is a white, bean-shaped building. Out front, there is a statue of a giant white marble snake twisting itself together to eat its own tail. There may be some game events that cause injuries or sickness that cannot be cured at the Dreamsnake Clinic. We will always clarify such events.

The Dreamsnake Clinic is the perfect solution to any physical injury or ailments you may be suffering from. If you require a specific medication or diet, you can expect to find it at the Clinic. One merely needs to approach the smooth, giant touch-screen tablet in the front of the building to type in what they need and they will be provided the goods in black jars, boxes, or bags. They certainly know how to keep things discrete.

And if you need something more, like stitches or a cast for a broken limb, you can walk into one of the many "healing rooms" and lay down on one of the beds. You will soon grow groggy and enter a dreamlike state. When you finally awaken, you will have been patched up! Whether with stitches, a splint or other simple medical procedures. Unfortunately, the Dreamsnake Clinic can't cure anything, but it can drastically diminish symptoms with regular visits! Being sick or requiring treatment may require you stay in this dreamlike phase for longer periods.

If you try to lay in one of the beds without any injury or sickness, you won't enter the dream. Exploring the building is useless: you'll find no medical equipment or workers anywhere. If someone goes with you to the Clinic, they will experience the dreamlike state with you and you will share a dream together. You may be a bit groggy and confused for a few days following the healing, but at least you'll be okay!

[ Twilight Academy ]

Twilight Academy is a prominent rose gold building intended to educate children up through college years. Ironically, most of the building is dedicated to dormitories and extracurricular activities or hobbies such as rooms where you can learn how to cook, sew, work with wood, and other skills. Each classroom is specialized to educate a certain subject - and yes, we do mean the classroom educates.

There are no teachers at Twilight Academy, but worry not! With state-of-the-art technology present in each room and an in-depth connection to the Daze, education at Twilight Academy is well-rounded. Each desk operates like a giant tablet with tablet pens one can work with. One can have and complete homework through their Daze. Grades unfortunately still exist in this world, and you will need to have passing grades for full semesters in order to access the next level of education.

The school taps into the best way a student can learn and will provide customized lessons even in a group setting. Between the smooth, tablet walls to present visual learning, the desks may provide more tangible learning with interactive holographs. Of course, if a character feels the urge to become a teacher at the Twilight Academy, you merely need to arrive at your certain time slots and connect through the Daze to the system. After all, some people still prefer to be taught by people rather than machines.

Standard and advanced education is available in all topics except for history. There is a huge absence of any information that may explain the history of Sweet Acres or the characters' various worlds. If one were to ask about history classes, the school would merely respond that history does not matter and that one must focus on the present to learn.

You can attend school at any time of day and you can be any age. The Daze will inform the school of what level of education you're currently at so that it can help place you in lessons. There is no library at the school or anywhere else in Sweet Acres. The school colors are black and rose gold. The mascot is a two-headed cow.

[ Sports Fields ]

A variety of sports fields can be found behind Twilight Academy. A well-kept football field seems to be the main attraction, but you can enjoy the tennis courts, baseball diamond, and soccer field. Equipment for various sports can be found in nearby sheds for just about every sport you could think of: footballs, tennis rackets, volleyballs, nets, archery equipment, and much more.

[ Haywood Ranch ]

Haywood Ranch is arguably the most honest location in Sweet Acres though it may not seem it at a glance. The ranch is famously known for being a glitchy place within Sweet Acres. The sky above the ranch regularly has clouds that won't move for days at a time or unusual weather patterns not seen anywhere else in the town. Objects randomly fall from the sky around the Haywood Ranch ranging from keys to pennies to lawn chairs to necklaces. Sometimes, you can hear wailing screams echoing in the wind - or maybe that is the haunting neigh of horses. But there are no animals in Sweet Acres, so it can't be that.

Haywood Ranch has several pastures one may typically expect to find cattle, sheep, horses, and other farm animals, yet they remain barren. However, if you stick around long enough or show up at unusual hours, you may see the occasional glitch where a horse or a cow appears for a few minutes before vanishing out of sight. Those with certain abilities would be able to determine that these animals are completely real - more real than just about anything else in Sweet Acres. The ranch itself is an old house that could do with some serious repairs. It is a large building with numerous rooms and a well-stocked kitchen.

One could find salvation at the Haywood Ranch during certain events, and thanks to how big the ranch is, many people could seek shelter within its walls. If not at the house, then the large stables nearby will get the job done too. You might just have to tolerate sleeping in piles of hay. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like anyone can live at the Haywood Ranch long-term. You will eventually be "glitched" out of the building if you stay longer than a few weeks.

On the bright side, you can endlessly visit the Haywood Ranch. It might be worth it too. After all, who knows what might fall from the sky around the ranch or what splendors it may provide during an event?
