Premise & Arrival

Premise |
![]() Characters will be subjected to monthly experiments that will offer a variety of challenges to overcome. While some experiments may be pleasant, most will offer stressful and even dangerous situations that characters will have to overcome. But don't worry: if they die, they will just wake up back in the simulation! Good as new! Kind of! Upon arrival, characters will be told that they have been programmed specifically for this simulation. They are told that the lives they remember are merely fabricated backstories to help provide Sweet Acres with a good variety of test subjects with different life experiences. Characters are told they are merely a tool to help educate the masses and that any suffering they may experience is only "for show." Of course, none of this is true. Your character has been stolen from their universes by an otherworldly entity known as Daisy. Characters may experience frequent bouts of confusion and amnesia within Sweet Acres. They may be more vulnerable to psychological manipulation due to the setting's influence. This may make them more prone to believing things Daisy says even if it goes against their better judgment. And their suffering is definitely real. |
[ Arrival Sequence ] |
We are sad to inform you that you have clipped out of your regularly scheduled programming. In an instant, you distort from your known reality and appear in a field under a starry sky. You are surrounded by grazing cattle, and more importantly, a two-headed calf that is resting its heads on your lap. It is peaceful yet something makes your chest ache. You want to keep the calf safe. You know something bad is going to happen to it if you leave. Before you can think much about the cow, a box of golden light opens up behind you. You don't remember standing up. You don't remember leaving the calf. You just remember it giving a desperate noise just before you are eclipsed by light. This time when you wake up, you are in a white bed in your new home. Above you, there seems to be a holographic TV screen projecting on the ceiling. What appears to be a perky humanoid woman is smiling down at you, her face painted with clown make-up complete with an exaggerated smile and a small black triangle over one eye. She wears a black fitted dress, red gloves, and a red cap. The moment you seem to process what's going on, her Welcome Message begins. |
[ Welcome Message ] |
All characters upon entrance and acceptance to the game will receive this Welcome Message:"Hi there! I'm so happy to see you! We have met before, but you won't remember that. Don't worry! That is completely normal. |
[ Meet Daisy ] |
The program runner of Sweet Acres is an entity known as Daisy: a creature who has the appearance of a humanlike woman who wears a black dress, a red cap, and red gloves. She has pale orange hair and is always seen in a face of white make-up with exaggerated lips. Get used to it! She is the only current true NPC in the game and will be the main source of information. Whether your character chooses to trust her or not is up to them! Daisy's character is inspired by BeeVeeKee's creative clown persona. Her voice and mannerisms can be enjoyed here! Our game has no formal affiliation with BeeVeeKee and is merely inspired by her work. Daisy is a master manipulator and is allegedly capable of accessing your character's memories and current experiences at any time. No matter how powerful your character might have been in their world, they are unmatched against Daisy. Daisy is submerged in mystery. She keeps information about the Sweet Acres Program under lock and key as well as any information about herself or what she is. However, despite her best efforts, something seems to be causing glitches in her program despite her best efforts. Is she keeping you safe from something far more sinister in whatever dimension she is from? Or is something trying to destroy the program and get you out? Who and what will you trust in this unusual world? |
[ The Daze ] |
The Daze is a highly advanced biotech program that has been installed into every single character that joins the game. The Daze directly accesses all of your senses, memories, thoughts, feelings, and your entire nervous system. The Daze operates as a means to record everything you are experiencing and help project those things to a broader audience. Don't be surprised if you abruptly hear laugh tracks mocking your failure in a situation. While you may not always be watched by Daisy or the Audience, it certainly is hard to ignore the feeling that you are always monitored. But it isn't all a bad thing with the Daze. After all, the Daze serves as the game's primary networking system and helps characters connect through video, text, audio, photos, and more! All characters, even those unfamiliar with advanced technology, will have an innate sense of how to use the Daze to their experience. Of course, some may find it even easier than others if it is more familiar to how their home world functions, but no one should "struggle" with operating the Daze on a basic level. The Daze can be hacked and manipulated by characters, and is often manipulated by Daisy to encourage characters to participate in events. Any character-to-character manipulation should always be discussed ahead of time before players to ensure everyone is on the same page. There is no physical "device" associated with the Daze. The Daze can project images in front of someone like a TV or a laptop screen. The majority of these visions are essentially explicit highly rendered hallucinations. Characters can therefore use the Daze to manipulate the aesthetics of their homes in minor ways. Alternatively, they can create real changes through Participation Points. What are Participation Points? Exactly like what they sound! Daisy encourages all Sweet Subjects to simply participate in the simulation at all times. To encourage this, she hands out "points" for every interaction your character has with another point. These points are automatically tallied and tracked within the Daze and can eventually be used to "purchase" real items. These real items can come from your character's home world or be unique to this setting. It is a great way to recover lost items, stock inventory for an in-character store, build a cool wardrobe, get a pet, or any other number of things. |
[ Grounding Item ] |
Every character will enter the game with a unique Grounding Item. This Grounding Item is encoded with special encryptions that help to regulate a character's sanity and overall stability within the setting. Grounding Items can help characters break free from experiments or avoid them altogether. Grounding Items won't always work perfectly and we strongly urge against players using them as a constant Get-Out-of-Jail-Free card as they are intended to hold a more special role in helping a character when they are at their absolute breaking point. A Grounding Item should be relatively small, something that could fit in one's hand comfortably and be easily hidden on your person. The item can be completely random, chosen by a player, or it can be an actual canon item from a character's homeworld that they may have a sentimental attachment toward such as a picture, a locket, or something similar. Grounding Items do work similarly to the items in Inception where the owner of a Grounding Item will inherently understand something fundamental about the Grounding Item that separates it from usual items. It should have some sort of special quality whether it is a spinning top that never falls over or a picture of your wife that only looks distorted when something wrong is happening. We leave this up to player creativity. Grounding Items should rarely ever change, but if a player feels that a new item would work better for their character, you are welcome to make this change at any point. Grounding Items can be lost but will always find their way back to characters in a few days. It will feel weird and wrong for a character to allow anyone else to touch their Grounding Item. Only deeply trusted people should be allowed to do such a thing. Anyone with nefarious intentions may be able to manipulate a Grounding Item and thus, manipulate its owner. Grounding Items cannot be broken and they cannot be permanently stolen since they will always glitch back to their owners. Some events may temporarily contract this information about Grounding Items to cause more panic among characters. |
